Sea kayaks, like the Chesapeake Double, were developed over thousands of years by the indigenous people of the Arctic. Most kayaks are designed for a single person, but some, like the Chesapeake Double can take two. Kayaks with two cockpits made it easier for the 19th-century Aleuts to hunt seals and whales. Our Double Kayak is modeled after the real "Chesapeake Double Sea Kayak", produced by Chesapeake Light Craft.
